Bradjolie's Wedding Day

I seldom write about the famous people because it's easier for them to look pretty or handsome, but I couldn't help myself this time. Instead of flaunting how expensive the bride's dress is and how glamorous the wedding is going to be (ahem, Kimye), Angelina Jolie once again showed her flawlessness with her stunning and awe-worthy simplicity for her special day with the always-charming Brad Pitt.

To be quite honest, I needed to take a triple take, and most likely, many others have done the same.  On this very meaningful silk-satin gown, designed by Atelier Versace, BradJolie has decided to showcase the drawings of their six beautiful children on her dress. How many other brides, let alone a celebrity, would be able to pull this off or even want to do this?  Huge props to the BradJolie couple for having, again, a meaningful wedding, a symbol to show themselves and everyone else, that the wedding was not just for the unification of the two Hollywood stars but also their six children...  all eight of individuals uniting as one.

I hope to use this as a constant reminder for myself:  The wedding day is not a day for the bride to do whatever she wants, which is pretty much today's common practice.  It is about establishing the first step to starting a new family and understanding that you have just become a part of one.

THEHOINSOHO in SOHO

Recently, the weather has been perfect for one of my favorite activities:  repping one of my favorite pair of kicks and walking around SoHo to grab in some of that city air (I do miss that polluted urban air smell) and to observe its busy ambiance.  This is my turf, my stomping ground, and my haven.   In fact, we walked around Soho so much yesterday that we were literally drenched in sweat (he was complaining about "swamp-ass"... because I don't know what that is...), but afterwards, we both agreed that it felt awesome.

How many people in the city are passionate and happy doing what they do?   The impressions I received from the multitude of people's facial expressions, even the slightest glimpses, make me ask myself.  Today, I was even more convicted that it's not what you do but that you believe in what you are doing.

I am thankful and that is all.

What I'm wearing (Top to Bottom):
Nets Mitchell&Ness Snapback
Sunglasses from Soho
Zara T-Shirt
Chanel Vintage Purse
Jollychic Skirt
Nike Air Huarache

CFDA Award 2014

June 2 2014

When I saw a post of Rihanna wearing a custom-made dress by Adam Selman,
I could not keep my eyes off her body, not the dress.
I am a true believer when it comes to expressing your own ideas and characters in the  fashion world, but this has disappointed me quite a lot.
Sure Rihanna has an amazing body to show off, but to receive an award as a fashion icon in this dress, I would have made a different decision.
What is your opinion?

From Sarah Jessica Parker embraced in Oscar de la Renta's dress to Victoria Beckham styled in the dress from her signature Pre-Fall 2014 Collection, I loved the variety of looks for the Met Gala 2014.
When it comes to dresses, I personally love the elegance and simplicity a dress can portray. Therefore, I would wear a dress similar to Gisele Bündchen's Balenciaga dress.
Beyond my personal taste, looks such as Suki Waterhouse in Burberry, Lupita Nyong'o in Prada, and Cara Delevingne in Stella McCartney all looked phenomenal.
Stella McCartney never ceases to disappoint me.

whichever you name it.
